All babies suck their thumbs (and anything else which finds its way to their mouths) as part of the natural sucking reflex which helps them feed. This sucking reflex usually becomes less strong by the time the child is six months old, but many children continue to suck their thumbs because they find it comforting. Weaning them from this habit can be challenging.Find other parents dealing with the same problem and ideas that can help by joining our online group on thumb sucking.
One of my relatives has the thumb sucking habit. He is 22 yrs old and does it when no one is around. When he sucks his thumb he touches his ears also. Can anyone give a solution how to change this habit?
