Glomerulonephritis

Glomerulonephritis is a kidney disease characterized by inflammation of the glomeruli – the small blood vessels in the kidney. A kidney biopsy is necessary to know the type of glomerulonephritis, and treatment will differ based on this.

Glomerulonephritis IgA and pregnancy

Hello,

I am 34 and living in Spain. Last september I got the diagnose of Glomerulonephritis IgA ( Glomeruslcerosis Focal and Segmental). My Protein loss was at 4 g per day and in the latest test it had lowered to 0,6 g per day after treatment with Prednisone.

I am taking medicine to lower blood pressure, colesterol, and diuretics.

I am vegetarian since more than 19 years.

I have been asking my doctors about the possibilities of having a child as my partner and me would love to have a child. Every doctor tells me something different. Some say that it is possible eventhough it will be difficult, and others say I should not try it by any means.

Is there anybody out there who has experiences with this topic?

I would be very thankful for any kind of advise.

Meike

I am 26yr old. I got HELLP syndrome and exhibited kidney failure. Creatinine was 4. Currently, I have recovered but I have about .7 g of Protenuria per day/ My MD has not given me anything to help it to go down because it is still low and treatment need not be considered. I have not had a kidney biopsy yet to find out what kind of kidney problem I have. I want another baby. I am getting tested on November and we will see where my lab results are and decide. The thing is I am pretty healthy otherwise. Any more luck with the baby?
