Ectopic Pregnancy

The word "ectopic" means "out of place". An ectopic pregnancy is a pregnancy where the fetus, instead of growing in the uterine cavity, occurs in a number of unusual locations, such as the fallopian tubes.

I had surgery on tuesday april 17 to remove my ectopic pregnancy and part of my right tube.I had my hcg levels checked a week before and they were coming up like they were suppose to. I had all the classic pregnancy symptoms and we were so excited to be adding to our family. This would have been our third child. It came as quite a shock when we went in for our ultrasound to get our due date and found the baby in my right tube. A perfectly normal developing baby with a nice strong heartbeat. I didn't have any pain or spotting bleeding or anything like that. Even my doctor was surprised. Right now I feel completely alone and empty inside. My husband has worked through his feelings and made peace with it. I just can't get over loosing our baby. Everytime I close my eyes I see the ultrasound and hear his heartbeat. I don't know how to move on or even feel somewhat better. I just want to cry all the time.

Hi , you are not alone. I have just joined this siteood to let it out after much reluctance have realised its g , I too have had etopic pregnancys. 2 in 2 years and understand and sahre you grief, firstly your not alone, you partner is there and together you will get through it and smile again. I had my right tube parially removed after the first time and then methotraxte the second time, am going to try again now. The past 2 years have been so hard seeing all ym friends falling pregnant, but it makes me all that determined, I feel like I am a mum and will be and so will you. Some times in life it takes you time to get to where you want to be but you will get there. Writing this I am so emotional as I feel your pain. But be positive you were pregnant some people dont have this chance and you will be pregnant again. Try and rest and share with your husband how you feel, let him in and be strong.
