Strategies to Combat Cancer

Commitment to do every thing in one’s power to fight cancer is vital. There is no half way. It’s all the way.

What does cancer battle mean?
Being given a diagnosis of cancer is one of the most difficult things to overcome in life. One of the first things that a person given a diagnosis of cancer thinks about is ask why? Why me? What could I have done to prevent it? Was there something that I didn't do? Was there something I did to cause it? Your disease is your teacher: your thoughts and beliefs, your home or work environment, your exposure to potential toxins, the food and drink you take in, the stressful life events that occur, your social interactions or lack of them, the patterns of your physical activity, all these contribute to your health or its breakdown.

Instead of identifying the disease by looking only at its symptoms, you need to start understanding your idiosyncratic symptoms, those complaints and physical findings that would reveal information about you and your life independent of the disease diagnosis. The hardest thing to accept when you are faced with disease is that your disability springs directly from your behaviors – what has brought you to this place of discomfort and disease are the choices you have made-up until this point. Those choices of every moment created your present reality. However, some of these choices you are now free to change. Such choices as smoking and alcohol consumption, drug abuse, poor diet and hygiene, lack of physical fitness, reckless miss use and driving the body to the present state in the garb of pleasure and enjoyment.

The cancer victim does not have to be a party to his own plunder. He must properly treat his own cancer as he is the only one who can. He must embark on a Do-It-Yourself program. The cancer victim wants someone else to do it for him. However, that is impossible for only the cancer victim himself can properly treat his own cancer

Phases of Cancer Battle
Overcoming cancer is a process of reversing the conditions that allowed the cancer to develop, and going after and killing cancerous cells. Cancer treatment should be viewed as consisting of two phases:-

Phase 1: The Purge Phase. The first six months of treating cancer usually require intensive therapy with surgery, radiation, and or chemotherapy of some type to purge as much of the cancer as possible from your body. This is usually the most difficult part of the treatment and your body needs to be supported with proper diet, nutritional supplements, intestinal support, massage, soothing mineral baths and stress reduction to help you tolerate the severity of most of the currently available standard treatments.

Phase 2: The Rebuilding Phase. The next six months in the process of healing from cancer are often overlooked and not given the attention they deserve. The immune system is what is going to protect you from any recurrences from this disease and it must be thoroughly rebuilt during the second phase. This is especially true since chemotherapy and other cancer treatments usually and extremely weaken the immune system. Unfortunately, patients too often jump right back into their previously unhealthful patterns of working too hard, eating poorly, and enduring too much stress. This is one of the major causes of cancer recurrence. It's just as important that the immune system be cared for and supported during the rebuilding phase with continued rest, emotional healing, healthy nutrition, gentle exercise, rhythmic breathing (Pranayama) and other natural therapies (possibly including herbs, acupressure, and massage).

Ingredients of Cancer Battle Plan
The major factor in the cancer war is the role that the Mental Attitude plays in the recovery from cancer. Some people believe that because they don’t have sufficient funds they won’t receive the best treatments. In fact these people are defeatists. They are making up their minds in advance and giving into their disease. People should have dedication and drive to do what would be required to be victorious over cancer. One should have burning desire to live. The biggest and the hardest single thing one will be required to do in the entire battle is to make up one’s mind to really fight it. Commitment to do every thing in one’s power to fight the disease is vital.

Key Therapeutic Strategies To Fight Cancer
(Renew, Refresh & Restore Your Mind, Body & Spirit)

Principles of Interventions

Olivia Newton-John Grammy Award winner and a Brest cancer survivor in a Foreword in Ross Taylor’s book on “Living Simply With Cancer” says “By simply changing diet to a high intake of fruit, vegetables and grains, by reducing stress through the gentle art of meditation or prayer, or practicing your own faith and seeking out support, you can have a major effect on your general wellbeing, and often your prognosis". The first step is to identify and modify the maladaptive Psychological, Behavioral, Cognitive factors involved in the maintenance of cancer disease.
The strategies to fight and survive cancer are- Improving emotional life by releasing negative and suppressed emotions, by doing mental re-programming with positive attitudes, by regular relaxation, meditation, yoga, improving social relationships and adopting a spiritual outlook in life. Hit cancer hard. This is one fight you don't want to lose. The more support you give your body, the better you will be at handling any possible side effects of chemotherapy and radiation therapy, and the better your body will be at fighting cancer. A natural approach to cancer is based on making your body healthier to strengthen a depleted, worn out, under energized immune system that is not capable of killing cancer cells as fast as they are multiplying.

The various therapeutic intervention techniques to cope with cancer illness are based on the following five principles: -
1. Cleanse the inside body of accumulated toxins. (Through Detoxification Therapies).
2. Give the Body the best Tools it needs to heal - Diet Therapies and Oxygenation through Rhythmic Breathing (Pranayama / Sudarshan Kriya Yoga).
3. Strengthen the Immune System through nutrition, by reducing Stress, Anxiety, Fear and Depression through Cognitive Restructuring; Relaxation Techniques; Yoga: Visualization, and thus empower the immune system to fight the cancer cells.
4. Facilitate expressing Emotions and development of Positive Attitude through Personality Engineering: Emotional Freedom Technique; Counseling and by daily practice of Affirmations, there by regaining Emotional balance and boosting the immune system.

The insight into the various causes and contributing factors in the development of cancer, we see the relationship between large number of diverse factors and the actual development of cancer. What is needed to be done is to strongly and dramatically interrupt and reverse the cancer causing conditions in the body so that the BODY becomes healthier, and stops breeding cancer. The more varied the approaches taken to correct those conditions, the more likely the cancer victims are going to hit on what works best in their particular case.

For most of our life, the immune system has successfully dealt with cancer cells, killing them off as they developed. That's its job. For cancer to have developed in us, our immune system must have become worn out, ineffective and unable to deal with the cancer cells. Thus it is vital in our battle against cancer to strengthen the immune system. The immune system can be boosted by modifying the Unhealthy Lifestyle, Addressing the Psycho-Social problems and regaining the Emotional balance. To maintain or regain your own health, understand and actively support these principles:-
1. Nurture relationships with others. Commit some time each day to give your undivided attention to a friend or family member.
2. Involve yourself in a group activity that is meaningful and enjoyable.
3. Enjoy in regular physical exercise of at least moderate intensity for 30 minutes each day. Brisk walking is a good start.
4. Reserve a period of 20 minutes or more for quiet, focused relaxation (Meditation) every day.
5. Regular practice of pranayama and yoga for about an hour is critical for prognosis
6. Become aware of the environmental hazards in your community and in your job and avoid them.
7. Keep to a minimum your use of alcohol and drugs, including medical drugs.
8. Ask your doctor about the medical side effects of any drug you take, including the effects of the drugs on liver toxicity.
9. Get enough sleep at night so that your immune system is strengthened.
10. Quit smoking and alcohol.

11. Consume a nutritious diet that is rich in ‘DETOX’ vegetables like Broccoli, Carrots, Tomatoes, Avocadoes, Brussels sprouts, Cabbage,
12. Include green leaves like Celery (Ajwain patha), Cilantro (Haridania), Spinach (Palak), Lettuce (Salad patha), Mint leaves (Pudina), Tulsi leaves and spices like Cumin seeds (Jeera), Cinnaman (Dalchinni), Turmeric (Haldi), Ginger (Adarak), Chilli peppers and Jalapenos (Hari mirchi) and Green onions to dress your daily vegetable’s salad meal .
13. Eat seed sprouts like Mung, Fenugreek (Methi), Brussels’ sprouts, Amaranth’s seeds (Chauli), Alfalfa, and Clover sprouts in evening snacks.
14. Add sea vegetable like spirulina and chlorella in your diet. Also include Asparagus (Shatwar/ musli).
15. Ensure daily intake of 2 - 3 of the following dry fruits / nuts – Walnuts (Akrots), Figs (Anjeer), Prunes (Manukka) Apricot seeds (Khurmani) and Raisins (Kismish).
16. Drink daily on empty stomach Wheat / Barley (Gheun / Jau) grass juice and eat a piece of Aloe Vera jelly (Home grown only). Daily consumption of these is a must.

All the above address the four characteristics of every cancer. These four conditions must be corrected before anyone can get over cancer:-
1. A weak immune system.
2. A lack of oxygen to the cells.
3. Excessive toxins
4. Acidity.

Since the Conventional cancer treatment (Chemotherapy & Radiation) makes all of these conditions worse. It is more important for the patient to make every effort to strengthen the immune system. HIT the cancer with everything YOU CAN. This is one fight YOU don't want to LOSE for its like being in a life and death struggle. The more support you give your body, the better you will be at handling any possible side effects of Chemotherapy and Radiation therapy, and the better your body will be at fighting cancer.
