Andropause / Male Menopause

Andropause, or male menopause, happens when men experience a decline in the body’s production of testosterone as they age. Male menopause is not as well defined as female menopause, but cause – a decline in the sex-specific hormone – is similar.

Sleep and Testosterone Levels

I am 56. I really noticed my problem after my situation at work caused stress and sleep problems. I've read that testosterone is replenished during sleep, especially during restorative rapid eye movement (REM) sleep. I'm working with my MD to check my T-levels and DHEA levels. I will have more insight after discussing the results over the weekend. I'm also working on multiple resources and approaches for better sleep. Would appreciate any insight that others have.

My lab test results confirmed that I had low testosterone levels. My MD gave me the options of a natural herb product or Androgel to raise my T-levels. I opted for Androgel to bring up the levels, with the objective of being able to sustain a balance in a more natural way. Although it's still early after starting the product, my sleep and energy is improving.
