As a practising Midwife I find some of this article insulting to midwives. Midwives are perfectly capable of providing the necessary health care throughout the pregnancy and beyond. Indigenous women are forced to attend hospitals to have their babies and no consideration is given to their cultural needs. It would be interesting so scrutinise the so called survey, no doubt conducted by the AMA to protect the income of its members.
