A good, interesting article!
Breastfeeding enables mums to be more in tune with their babies emotional needs. Particularly the closeness and bonding involved through skin-to-skin contact, and the increased likelyhood of co-sleeping!

Common sense from one who has breastfed several children says... the mental health benefits probably have much to do with the fact that breastfeeding requires the mum to nestle the baby up to her body, which is what the baby emotionally thrives on. Babies need that skin-to-skin closeness for many months - *that's* what cures them of anxiety, fear, etc.
