People have been 'self medicating" themselves for very long now. The real problem lies with the governments and other greedy people that wish to control the drugs people use. "Drug abuse is a twentieth century invention of the "big brother" mentality that is prevasive all aound the world today. The problem lies not in drugs but in the mentality that something can be done to eliminate their use.It is simply impossible to control people regarding their usage and people have made it very clear to the Government too. They are also clear that all prohibition laws are wrong and hence will not be tolerated. The governments are to blame for the death and destruction brought about by these disagreements. The only answer to this lies in education, regulation and treatment. However even this is not going to stop some people from harming themselves with dangerous drugs.
