Heart Attack

A heart attack happens when blood flow to part of the heart is disrupted, causing heart muscle in that area to begin to die. Heart attacks are usually caused by coronary artery disease which makes fatty deposits called plaque build up inside the arteries of the heart.

Heart surgery in Mumbai

Six months ago, I had no worries in life whatsoever – I partied hard, worked late, ate whatever, slept whenever – the typical young professional, six months ago, I was frantically searching for a place to get proper heart surgery in Mumbai. I had this sharp pain while sitting for lunch one day, and ignored it till it got worse by the hour. By evening, I was feeling breathless and congested – completely fatigued. That is when I went in to the emergency and found out that I had some problems in my heart valves that required immediate surgery. My world fell apart – my job, the pressures of medical treatment (which is extremely costly in Mumbai), negotiating with the insurance claim. How could I manage it all myself, staying so far from my home? That is when a friend dragged me off to Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre in Bandra. They gave me a thorough check up, and a number of cardiologists confirmed that I needed heart surgery. In Mumbai, medical treatment can be extremely costly; but Lilavati’s bill was minimal, and they helped me recover the full sum from my insurance company. Lilavati is indeed the best place for heart surgery in Mumbai.
