I have been one of Jehovah's Witnesses for 33 years. This man would not only be told that what he was doing was not good, smart, necessary, medically sound, wise, safe etc. He would be told that consulting "religious zealots" on the Internet is less than wise or normal or smart.
Anyone can claim to be one of Jehovah's Witnesses as anyone can claim to be agnostic.

It sounds like he went from the frying pan into the fire.Indoctrinated by extremist Jehovah's Witnesses beliefs then splintered off to do his own thing.
Jehovah’s Witnesses beliefs and practices are harmless at a distance.... until you or your loved one gets tangled up and then burned out from the whole apocalyptic compulsive mindset.
Do a web search: Jehovah Witness watchtower read the stories

Circumcision is not a part of the belief system of Jehovah's Witnesses. If anyone wants to do it, it is their personal decision. Nothing this father did is approved by Jehovah's Witnesses or Jehovah himself. Romans 2:25-29 reads: "Circumcision is, in fact, of benefit only if you practice law; but if you are a transgressor of law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision. If, therefore, an uncircumcised person keeps the righteous requirements of the Law, his uncircumcision will be counted as circumcision, will it not? And the uncircumcised [person] that is such by nature will, by carrying out the Law, judge you who with its written code and circumcision are a transgressor of law. For he is not a Jew who is one on the outside, nor is circumcision that which is on the outside upon the flesh. But he is a Jew who is one on the inside, and [his] circumcision is that of the heart by spirit, and not by a written code. The praise of that one comes, not from men, but from God."

What a terrible account. It would have been great if the story would have also mentioned that Jehovah's Witnesses in no way support his actions. This article quickly identifies him as one and then does nothing to limit the implication that his acts were based on beliefs and teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses. I regret to say that MedIndia has performed sloppy biased reporting in this case.

This is not an isolated case. This guy was just following "god's orders". Plus he wanted to make his son look like him. Sound familiar?
A similar case in the US recently had a father cutting both of his sons with a utility knife. Same sick scenario. Religious nutcase dad.
Google "circumcision dad utility knife" and while you're at it "herpes rabbi circumcision deaths". Everyone who cuts children's genitals and causes even the most horrible injury way beyond the circumcision gets off easy. Punishment is only ever a slap on the wrist. Judge doesn't want public to consider circumcision of any child an aggravated sexual assault or else we'd have to put those sick "doctors" who make their fortunes slicing the genitals of babies behind bars.
