As usual, scientists make broad assumptions based on a small sample. Did they bother to investigate what the parents were like BEFORE they had children? Or,did the study include parents that had adopted a child with autism (like myself). My gut feeling is that the child is actually teaching behaviors to the parents. We, as parents of children with autism, learn to look for different types of signals (body language & facial expressions)in order to gauge the mood of our children.
