It is sad to know that Pune is going through such a divorce revolution. What people perceive and what is reality is are two different things!

1. Pune has high divorce rates beacuse the legal system is corrupt and the judges allow divorces with ease.

2. The marriage counselling in the Pune City courts is a joke. The counsellor charges Rs 25000 to convert a unilater divorce petition to a mutual consent by threatening the defendent with a long trial with severe penalty for alimony and denial of visitation rights to children.

3. The judges do good with Rs 5 lakh gifts for ensuring the custody of the children go to the petitioner.

4. People from all over India come to Pune to seek advice since there is no dearth of crooked lawyers who fix the deal with the judges.

5. Any reason why a prominent lawyer like Abhay Apte and a judge are making statements here??

I agree with Arvind. This lawyer Abhay is not an honest man. He has cheated many clients in Pune , Satara and Mumbai. He is basically a judge fixer. He does not conduct any defense for the case. Eventually you end up paying huge money to him and the judges he knows which is a waste of money since the opposing party will anyway appeal to the higher courts. Kindly do not hire him.
