"Smoking is reportedly being prohibited on the grounds of unscientific fears, according to a skier who is on a vacation at Utah. "
Thanks, but I'll take my medical and scientific opinions from, uh, you know, doctors and scientists, not skiers on vacation(!)
"The British Medical Journal had already published a report which states that second hand smoke (SHS) does not raise the risk of heart and lung diseases."
a. Wrong. The study DID find SHS raised the risk of respiratory illness.
b. BMJ has published many more studies, that _have_ found SHS raises the risk of heart disease, COPD and lung cancer. These studies however, unlike the one to which you refer, were somehow accomplished without the aid of the tobacco industry.
Medindia, what is your problem, publishing such drivel?
