Binge Eating : The Pleasure and Pain

Though rarely recognized, binge eating is the most common of all eating disorders. Surprisingly more common than anorexia or bulimia! Emotional eating is often a pattern of eating characterized by a voracious appetite, consuming large amounts of food quickly, and an eating tendency that goes out of control.

Binge eating

I'm 25 years old and have been a binge eater for 10 years now. Ive never been on one of these sites before, and thought I will give it a whirl. I'd like to chat with people who also have a binge eating problem. At the present moment, I feel I am all alone, and feel that I am the only person suffering from this problem. However I know that this is'nt the case and it is just how I feel.

I'm at a point in my life where i know things need to change in order for me to be happy. I know i can't carry on living in this fashion. Binge eating feels like it controls my whole life especially at the time I'm binging and I do so 3 times in a week. This is causing me to gain weight rapidly and i am worried about my health. Every time I binge eat I wake up feeling terribly bloated all over my body including my eye lids which becomes very bloated and puffy. My clothes become very tight on the dy after binge eating. I begin the day with the best intentions, resolving not to binge eat again, but I do so within a couple of days. At this point I feel dejected again and feel I have let myself down again. This terrible circle continues week after week and I cannot break the circle.

Any comments would be much appreciated.

Hi Sally,

Binge Eating is a very common problem people face out of a busy schedule,stress and other factors which make you avoid your regular meals taken at the right time.

Emotional eating is a hard habit to get out of. However, there are many tips to help you quit this dangerous tendency.

* To overcome emotional overeating, an over-eater must be willing to change. Otherwise, the disorder will typically become worse and, like any other addiction, result in additional consequences.
* Identify which emotions are causing this problem. They could be anger, frustration, boredom, insecurity etc.
* If you notice that you are eating from emotion, move away from where the food is. You can go into another area until you calm down and regain control of your emotions.
* Don't keep junk foods around, because it's much easier to fight those urges when junk food isn't readily available. Alternatively, attempt to replace calorie laden junk foods with healthier alternatives.
* Make a list of things you can do to sidetrack yourself when emotional eating threatens, such as go for a jog, take a short nap, or read a book.
* Get plenty of rest, exercise and eat a balanced diet during your regular meals. A healthier approach to life can help you break bad habits and feel better overall.

I am 24 years old and I feel that I have the same problem as you. YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

I am getting married this July and I want to look perfect for the wedding, but every time I start a diet I become so hungry that I end up over eating and gaining weight. I became so fed up I tried to look for all natural weight loss products to see if they would really help.

I stumbled upon this site that offered organic weight loss products. I ordered the sample pack and tried some of their products. I really liked them. So I sucked it up and ordered the program.

I just got the shipment the other day and I started the program. I feel great!!!! The shake tastes really good and it keeps me full.
