Nano-particles/ nanotubes are new age terms for ayurveda bhasmas

Nanobulletes, nano-particles, nanobombs, and nanotudes are new terms for fine particles of any metal. The gold nano particles are strongest candidates to be used for explosion therapeutically in cancer by Photothermolysis because they are strong absorbers, photo stable, and can be easily conjugated to required antibodies/ proteins/tissues/cancer stem cells and have adjustable optical properties.

The Indian ancient Ayurveda chemists coined the term BHASMA for the fine particles of metals and minerals encapsulated in herbal molecules to make them target specific to minimize the unwanted effects.
The therapeutic uses of these Bhasmas are described in Rasa Shastra in various complex diseases .The standardization, proper preparation, dosages, saha and anupana, specific time of administration, duration of administration is very keenly need to be taken care off to avoid the untoward effects.

Among these Bhasmas of metals lot are found effective in modern parameters, even the fine particles some these metals like Zinc, silicon, gold, diamond, iron, calcium, cadmium etc are found to effective not only the diseases conditions described in Ayurveda literature but also anti-oxidants.
