How is tooth decay more important than brain damaging lead exposure? This isn't the first time fluoridated water is linked to childrens' elevated blood lead levels, as several studies have indicated.. One study even showed that children with more lead in their blood have MORE tooth decay. It's time for organized dentistry to stop protecting its sacred cow - fluoride - and for dentists to stop their incessant push to add another unnecessary chemical into already unsafe water supplies and then encourage parents to feed this toxic brew to their children. Fluoridation is tightly linked to organized dentistry's political viability. Shame on them and shame on the politicians who are influenced by the money and power of dentists' unions - with members both inside and outside of government.
