Adolescent Depression

Depression in adolescents is quite similar to that of adults. Teens suffering from psychotic depressions may report hallucinations. Other common signs are a decline in academic achievements, behavioral problems in friendship, withdrawal from external contact, and a lack of enthusiasm and energy.

As a parent or caregiver for an adolescent, always remain on your guard against possible symptoms of teen depression. Give your child all the attention and love he/she requires. Pick up some easy tips on managing depression here at this support group.

This is a classic piece of Relapse Prevention in dealing with addictions. Fantasizing about drugs with intense euphoric recall is a symptom of relapse. If the patient can "keep playing the tape to the end" they will arrive at the consequences portion of the "movie" and it's easier to make a rational choice about whether to use or not.
