hi Faith,
thanks for the query.
Among ectopic pregnancies, abdominal pregnancies constitutes to 1%.
In this primary abdominal pregnancies are rare.
According to the criteria of primary abdominal pregnancy,
-tubes and ovaries should be normal,
-there should not be any connection between uterus and abdominal cavity,
-the pregnancy to be entirely related to peritoneal surface.
So, when surgery is done to remove the sac chance of damage to reproductive organs is less unless they are surrounding the sac, this mainly depends on the position of placental tissue.
The treatment options of abdominal pregnancy are, laparotomy, laparoscopy, embolization of related blood vessels or using methotrexate.
After discussing with your doctor you can choose among these.
Here I am giving list of some famous hospitals,
Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,
Flushing Hospital Medical Center, Queens, New York,
Confederate Memorial Medical Center, Shreveport.
