To gain inches and have a toned figure you have to couple a high protein diet with weight bearing exercises.
Focus on consuming 5 to 6 meals a day.
Consume more of dals, legumes, sprouts, milk, curds, egg whites, lean chicken, fish.
Focus on consuming energy dense foods and avoid refined, fried, junk, white flour based foods like biscuits, cookies, breads, sweets etc.
Take help in terme of exercise from a fitness trainer.
