A few suggestions:
1. I hope the exercises have been outlined under the guidance of a physiotherapist or an orthopeadician, other wise it could worsen your problem.
2. If the exercises have been prescribed by a trained physiotherapist than do them religiously to see improvement.
3. Do not use a pillow while sleeping.
4. Try to sleep preferably on a hard flat surface.
5. If the pain becomes intolerable, the only option is to take painkillers.
